Privacy policy

How the Elder Dialler application and website handle personal information.

Last updated: 30 September 2026

Elder Apps is committed to protecting privacy and handling personal information openly and transparently. This policy explains how personal information is handled in connection with the Elder Dialler mobile application, the Elder Apps website, product testing and support communications.

This policy is intended to address the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply.

1. About Elder Dialler

Elder Dialler provides a simplified Android phone experience. Data minimisation is a core design principle. The app uses phone information only to provide enabled features such as contacts, speed dials, call handling, Safe Call Mode, SOS contacts and local call history.

2. Scope

This policy applies to visitors to the Elder Apps website, users of Elder Dialler and people who contact Elder Apps for support, feedback, product testing or privacy enquiries.

3. Personal information

Personal information is information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable.

4. Information handled through the website

The website does not require an account and does not intentionally include advertising trackers or an Elder Apps analytics script. The hosting provider may process standard technical logs needed to deliver and protect the website, such as IP address, browser or device information, requested pages and date or time.

The website includes forms for support/contact, product testing feedback and data deletion or privacy requests. These forms are processed by Un-static Forms and delivered to Elder Apps at support@elderapps.com. Form submissions may also be visible in the Un-static dashboard according to the form service settings and retention period.

If you contact Elder Apps, information you choose to provide may include your name, email address, device model, Android version, app version, tester code, enquiry, task results, ratings, support details and optional comments. The current website forms are text-only and do not intentionally collect uploaded files.

5. Information handled by the application

5.1 Contacts

With permission, Elder Dialler reads contact names, phone numbers and optional photos for contact selection, speed dials, SOS contacts and Safe Call Mode matching. Elder Dialler does not edit the phone's Contacts provider.

5.2 Local settings and history

The app stores its settings locally, including display choices, speed-dial assignments, SOS order, blocked numbers and cached Advanced entitlement status. Elder Dialler maintains its own private incoming, outgoing, missed and rejected-call history, distinct from Android's general call log.

5.4 In-app purchases

Google Play handles payment and billing information for the optional Advanced one-time purchase. Elder Apps does not receive payment-card details; the app receives purchase or entitlement status and may cache verified ownership for the same installation.

5.5 Android and service boundaries

Android owns the default-phone role, runtime permission prompts, Telecom transport, screen-pinning confirmation, parts of notification policy and the final share destination. Elder Dialler uses ordinary telephone calls and is not VoIP, video calling, chat or a cloud calling service.

6. Information Elder Dialler does not intentionally collect

Elder Dialler does not intentionally collect precise location, record call audio, collect advertising identifiers, sell or rent personal information, or use personal information for targeted advertising. It has no Elder Dialler application server and does not automatically upload Contacts, call history or photos.

7. How information is used

Information is used to provide app functionality, apply selected settings, manage purchased features, respond to enquiries, review product testing feedback, improve the app and website, protect the website and comply with legal obligations.

8. Disclosure

Elder Apps may disclose information when a user sends an enquiry to support, when service providers are needed for hosting, website forms, email, app distribution or Google Play purchases, or when disclosure is required or authorised by law. Elder Apps does not sell personal information.

9. Storage, security and retention

App settings and app call history are stored in the app's private local storage. Clearing app data or uninstalling Elder Dialler removes that locally stored app data; phone Contacts and system-managed records are separate.

Support emails, website form submissions and attachments sent separately by email are retained only as reasonably needed to respond, diagnose issues, review product testing feedback, meet legal obligations and maintain necessary business records. Hosting, form and email providers may retain technical logs, submissions and backups under their own policies and settings. Reasonable safeguards are used, but no storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.

10. Access, correction and deletion

Most app information can be managed by changing settings, revoking permissions, clearing app data or uninstalling the app. To request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information held by Elder Apps through support, website forms or product testing, use the data deletion request form or email support.

11. Overseas processing

Elder Apps does not intentionally sell or disclose personal information overseas. Google Play, Hostinger, Un-static Forms, email and other user-selected sharing providers may process information in other countries under their own privacy policies and service arrangements.

12. Children's privacy

Elder Dialler is intended for adult users. Elder Apps does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

13. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the app, website, service providers or legal requirements change. The current version and update date will be published on this page.

14. Contact and complaints

For privacy questions, access or correction requests, deletion requests or complaints, use the data deletion request form or email support@elderapps.com. Please describe the issue without including unnecessary contact, health or financial information.

Elder Apps will respond within a reasonable time. If a privacy complaint is not resolved, information about lodging a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner is available at oaic.gov.au.

Review status: This policy has been updated to include website form handling and product testing feedback collection.
